This week, we’ll stray a little bit from our editorial policy to briefly tell you about our experience at the 2nd Travel Bloggers Convention held in Ajaccio last May . Although our blog was still quite young (2 months at the time), we wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to meet other passionate travel bloggers and introduce ourselves to tourism professionals. We went with low expectations and came out enriched, grown and damn motivated!
The Convention
Spread over three days, the convention first started with blogtrips for all of us. We had the choice between a dozen options with various themes around the discovery of Corsican nature, History or gastronomy. No better way to learn more about this island that seemed so mysterious. Because of an administrative mishap, which of we still don’t know the reasons, we got ourselves seperated on two different blogtrips which ultimately proved to be very fun. We will tell you all about those in detail in the coming blog posts. The two following days were very intense and enriching since we have had the opportunity to attend various conferences in the morning, meet tourism professionals through speed-datings in the afternoon to finish in style with parties organized in nice hotels of the area. Special mention to the magical soirée organized by the Porticcio Sofitel. We had the nice surprise to get there by boat and we were greeted like celebrities by the hotel staff, a very nice evening!

The Encounters
We will definitely remember those magical encounters we had during our stay there. First with Corsicans who are certainly proud but also incredibly welcoming . Proud of their heritage and traditions, they did not hesitate to welcome us with open arms to share good times and teach us the intricacies of life on the Beauty Island. Passionate and exciting, it was a pleasure to drink in their words! We also had very beautiful encounters among the bloggers and had a real crush for the official photographer . It’s pretty funny and strange to meet bloggers that we have been virtually following for a while. It feels like we know them and sometimes a strong bond can be instantly created. We made buddies, even friends, that we will certainly meet again afterwards. Thank you to Lauren (awesome photographer!) and all the bloggers for those great moments! See you soon!
